This project does not use machine sewing. No previous sewing experience is necessary.

If you love hand-sewing and stationary, this is the workshop for you! Learn how to hand-sew a custom journal covered in your favorite fabric. The term ‘Coptic’ refers to an ancient hand-stitching method. Coptic books are special because the spine of the book has visible sewn binding. When opened, they also lay completely flat!
 
You will create a 5.5 x 8.5 in hardcover journal for whatever your heart desires. Use it as a gratitude journal, record your favorite recipes, or your daily to-do list!

Please be on time for class with your supplies already purchased and ready to go.
Materials to bring with you to class:
(all students get 15% off in the Old Spool Shop!)

• 1 Fat Quarter of Quilting Cotton or Light to Medium Weight Canvas for exterior of notebook
• 1 Fat Quarter of Quilting Cotton or Light to Medium Weight Canvas for lining of notebook (optional, you may use the same fabric for the exterior and interior of your notebook)

Materials Included with registration: book boards, waxed thread, glue, paper, and all tools needed for notebook construction.

By purchasing a class or workshop you agree that there will be no refunds, transfers or credit given for the class after the designated start time. 100% refunds or class credit is available if requested up to 72 hours before the start of a class/workshop. No refunds will be given within 72 hours of the start of class unless your spot can be filled from a wait list, otherwise future class credit will be issued. No-Shows without an attempt to contact us prior to the start time of class (email, voicemail etc) will not be refunded, transferred or given credit. No make up classes are available. We will not transfer credit to a future class more than once.
