The perfect first step for every young maker! In this one-time workshop, students get hands-on with our Baby Lock machines to learn the basics and sew their very own drawstring bag.
After School Classes
Old Spool After School is a weekly creative home for makers. From garments to quilting, students build real skills while experiencing the joy of making something by hand.
Hand Sewing Workshop
Big fun for our littlest makers! This monthly class is the perfect introduction to sewing. We start with a story and then dive into a hand sewing project inspired by the book using a real needle and thread.

After years in the NYC fashion industry and a degree from Parsons School of Design, our founder Julia, traded the fast pace of the garment district for a sunny studio in Brielle. Along with her husband Patrick, she created Old Spool as a place for our community to slow down, build real skills, and rediscover the joy of making something by hand.
